Steph Mouw (b. 1960, Cleveland, Ohio) studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art, where she received a solid foundation in drawing, painting and design. She works predominantly in soft pastel and directly from life to create compelling still life paintings. Steph is a Signature - Master Pastelist member of the Pastel Society of America. She is a juried member of New York City’s Salmagundi Club, where she serves on the Art Committee, she is a Signature Member of the Connecticut Pastel Society as well as an Associate Member of the American Impressionist Society. Steph’s paintings have been juried into many national and international shows and have received numerous awards, including the Terry Ludwig Pastel’s Award at the 2022 Pastel Society of America’s 50th Annual Exhibition: Enduring Brilliance! as well as the Medal of Honor for Pastel at the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club’s 122nd Annual Open Juried Exhibition. Her work has been exhibited at the National Arts Club (New York), the Salmagundi Club (New York) and the Butler Institute of American Art (Ohio). The Pastel Journal Magazine did a feature article on Steph’s floral paintings in the June, 2020 issue. Steph, her husband Bruce, and their cat Charlie live on the north shore of Long Island, NY.
